Julie Hesmondhalgh

Julie is a wonderful actor and won the hearts of the viewers for her portrayal as Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street. Since she left the show, Julie has been busier than ever starring in several pivotal roles in the theatre and on TV. In that time she has illustrated her immense talent and does a great deal of research so that she plays every character as authentically as possible. An Accrington lass, she has never forgotten her roots and we are honoured that she has agreed to do a column for us here. This is here second column and I hope these will continue but it will depend on her work and charity committments as to how often she can contribute. We will look forward to the times she can.

Doctor Barbara

Doctor Barbara Milne is a well respected GP and the daughter of one of Hyndburn's unsung heroes, photographer Garth Dawson. Barbara has agreed to do a regular column for us. Her latest one deals with isolation and loneliness in relation to the situation we all find ourselves in at the moment.

The Mayor

Councillor Kathleen Pratt is Hyndburn's current mayor. She has taken time from her busy schedule, to give us monthly updates during her mayoral year, for which we are truly grateful. We wish her luck in the coming year.

Tom Ungless

Tom is a member of Lancashire Authors Association and a published author. He has been kind enough to contribute to our LAA column here and I think his article is indeed food for thought given recent happenings in Florida.

Peter Jones

Peter Jones is a member of Lancashire Authors' Association, Oswaldtwistle Writers' and also runs writers groups at Oswaldtwistle and Accrington Libraries. He is a photographer, journalist and web designer.

Deborah Clark

Deborah Clark is the Managing Director of Community Solutions North West and each month or thereabouts she will be keeping us up to date on what the organisation, based at Elmfield Hall in Gatty Park, Church, Accrington is up to and how you can help. Her latest column  highlights some of the work CSNW does in the community and how the public appreciate their efforts.
